Shutting the influence of the world out of your life for the next 12 weeks. This may be harder to do than any of the other disciplines!
We spend so much time consuming news, social media, and various entertainment (movies, etc) that we don't have room left in our heart for the Bible.
Paul said, "For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." (Galatians 6:8)
The Secret to drawing close to God during these 12 weeks involves what you allow into your life on a daily basis. I challenge you to turn off your entertainment devices, delete your social media apps, make this a season of
REAL, TRUE CONSECRATION!
In the place of phones, televisions and computers, replace those voices with the preached Word of the Lord. While you're at work, while your sweeping your kitchen floor, while you're driving on your commute ... keep feeding your spirit.
Listen to some Holy Ghost anointed music that connects your spirit to the Spirit of God. Pick up a book that feeds your spirit and CUT OUT THE VOICES OF THE WORLD!
